Kippers (Parent Child Class 6 Months to 3 Years old)-
Goals: To promote a love for the water. Children become acclimated to the water while parents introduce bubble-blowing, floating
and arm and leg movements.
Rate: Members- $30
          Non-Members- $60

 

Swim Lessons

Children are taught the basic skills that are the building blocks of swimming, plus pool safety, boating safety, use of personal flotation devices and water games.

 

Rate: Members: $30/session
          Non-Members: $80/session

Pre-School Swim Lessons (3 - 5 yrs)

Rate: Members: $30/session
          Non-Members: $60/session
 

Pike (Beginner I)
Learn to float and swim with floatation devices.
Prerequisite: Child should be able to go in the water without supervision of a parent.
Goals: Gain self-confidence; Swim away from the wall turn and grab the wall with a float belt; Front and back float with assistance; Bob underwater; Paddle on front, back and side with a float belt.

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:00 pm

 

Eel (Beginner II)
Prerequisite: Completion of Pike Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator. Must be comfortable in the water and be able to swim at least 5 feet with or without floatation device.
Goals: Jump and return to wall without float belt; Front and back float with little or no assistance; Paddle on front, back and side 25 yards with little or no assistance.

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:00 pm

 

Rays (Intermediate)
Prerequisite: Completion of Eel Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator. Must be able to swim 25 yards without assistance.
Goals: Alternating paddle and symmetrical strokes on front, side and back; Tread water 20 - 30 seconds

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:00 pm 

 

Starfish (Advanced)
Prerequisite: Completion of Ray Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator. Must be comfortable in deep water, tread water for 20-30 and swim 25 yards on their front and back.
Goals: Alternating paddle and symmetrical strokes on front, side and back with rhythmic breathing. Front and back somersault without assistance and tread water for 1 minute.

Youth Swim Lessons (6 and up)

 

Polliwogs (Beginner I)
Goals: Gain self-confidence; Swim away from the wall turn and grab the wall with a float belt; Front and back float with assistance; Bob underwater; Paddle for 25 yards on front, back and side with a float belt.

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:30 pm

 

Guppies (Beginner II)
Prerequisite: Completion of Polliwog and/or Ray and/or Starfish class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator
Goals: Alternating paddle with rudimentary rhythmic breathing for 25 yards. Jump into deep water & paddle for 10 feet, then float for 10 seconds and return to the wall.

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:30 pm

 

 

Minnows (Intermediate I)
Prerequisite: Completion of Guppy Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator.
Goals: Over-arm development of strokes; Learn Breast stroke

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:30 pm

 

Fish (Intermediate II)
Prerequisite: Completion of Minnow Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator.
Goals: Development of front and back crawl, breast stroke, side stroke and butterfly. Build 50 yards of endurance with each stroke and tread water for 3 minutes.

 

Monday/Wednesday 6:30 pm

 

 

 

Flying Fish/Shark (Advanced)
Prerequisite: Completion of Fish Class or consent of Aquatic Coordinator.
Goals: Continue development of all strokes, build 100 yards of endurance in each stroke and learn flip turns for both front and back crawl.
